BiographyMichael Potts is President and Chief Executive Officer of Rocky Mountain Institute. RMI is a "think-and-do tank," based in Colorado, USA, with a mission to drive the efficient and restorative use of resources. RMI's innovative team of architects, scientists and engineers partner with industry and government to create transformational breakthroughs in our major energy systems; power and industrial plants, commercial and residential buildings, vehicles and transportation systems. In its 27-year history, RMI has built an extraordinary track record of thought leadership in the fields of radical energy efficiency and integration of renewable sources.

Mr. Potts leads all operations of RMI. He was an active trustee before he joined the Institute as CEO in early 2007, after more than 25 years as a growth-oriented high-technology executive. His most recent commercial position was as CEO of American Fundware, which nearly tripled in revenues during his tenure. He spent many years working internationally and served for a time as Managing Director of an Australian subsidiary. In addition to his work at RMI, Mr. Potts currently serves on various commercial and non-profit boards that align with his passion for innovation and spiritual growth.
