Jane Burke

Jane Burke is the senior curatorial assistant for the department of textile art and fashion at the Denver Art Museum (DAM). In this role, Burke coordinates and contributes to curatorial projects including exhibitions, loans and acquisitions, as well as researching the permanent collection to better interpret artworks for the museum’s audience. Since arriving at DAM in December 2013, Burke has worked on textile art and fashion exhibitions including First Glance—Second Look, Creative Crossroads, Shock Wave: Japanese Fashion Design 1980s-90s, Drawn to Glamour: Fashion Illustrations by Jim Howard and Dior: From Paris to the World.

Burke received her BFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in painting and a master’s degree in Asian art history and Chinese language from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her master’s thesis focused on the representation of Chinese minority textiles in museums and private collections.
