Paulo has a PhD from the University of São Paulo / USP. He graduated in the Environmental Sciences Program-PROCAM-working with Public Policy Evaluation in sanitation in the Amazon. Part of his PhD was completed in Germany, at the University of Trier, Birkenfeld campus. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Pará (1995), a Master's degree in Civil Engineering - Urban Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (1999) and a specialization in environmental pollution control engineering from the Faculdade de Saúde Pública FSP / USP (2008) and training in Automobile and Environment, in Tsukuba, Japan (2004). He has experience in the area of Environmental Management, with an emphasis on Solid Waste and Environmental Impact Assessment (54 projects carried out). He has already guided 28 papers and participated in 40 examining boards. He has published one published book and has two more chapters published in book collections. He is a managing partner of the company ARETÊ, an urban environmental consulting firm, and he chairs the AMIGOS DE BELÉM Association.
