I am a social specialist with experience in multi-sectoral coordination, public management and communication strategies, aimed at strengthening subnational governments and rural communities. Most of the time, I have been working on development projects of FAO, UNDP, UNOPS and WB, with an emphasis on Public Policies for Food Security, Fishery Governance, Spatial Planning and Integrated Zone of Coastal Marine Management, Territorial Development and Ecosystem Approach.
In my own entrepreneurship, I am a staff partner of a non-profit organization (REDES) whose purpose is to promote the sustainability of fishing and aquaculture activities along the value chains for rural communities that depends on these activities. For that reason, improvement of science-based fisheries management, public policies on fisheries and aquaculture and the well-being of artisanal fishing communities are main goals of our work. Also, we contribute to the generation of research on socioecological fisheries systems and technologies used in fishing and aquaculture.
